MyWorkplace: Rescuing a Stalled Mobile Strategy for a Modern Workforce
Discover how we transformed a desktop-only personnel system with a robust mobile architecture, enabling on-the-go shift and leave management.

The Problem
A mobile-first workforce trapped in a desktop-only system.
MyWorkplace provided a trusted personnel management platform, but as the market shifted, their legacy desktop constraints became a major competitive risk:
- The Mobility Gap: Employees needed to apply for leave, clock in/out, and manage shifts from the job site, not an office desk.
- The Cycle of Failure: Multiple previous attempts to build a mobile app had failed to reach the finish line, leaving the team wary and without a stable solution.
- Competitive Pressure: Without a mobile offering, MyWorkplace faced the real threat of losing long-term customers to more modern, “app-first” competitors.
They didn’t just need a developer; they needed a partner to take full ownership of the architecture and prove that a mobile solution was actually achievable.
The Solution
Expert architecture and a focus on ‘Production-Ready’ delivery.
We stepped in as the mobile architects and delivery lead, stripping away the complexity that had stalled previous teams:
- Pragmatic Tech Stack: We selected Ionic with Angular to create a high-performance, cross-platform experience that integrated seamlessly with their existing backend.
- Architectural Reset: We rebuilt the mobile foundation from the ground up, identifying and resolving the core technical blockers that had derailed prior attempts.
- End-to-End Ownership: We took full responsibility for the frontend architecture, ensuring every feature—from shift tracking to leave requests—was stable and scalable.
- Automated Delivery: We implemented a robust CI/CD pipeline, ensuring that builds and deployments were no longer a manual “guessing game” but a reliable, repeatable process.
Our focus was on providing a working, production-ready solution that gave the MyWorkplace team their confidence back.
The Results
Functionality restored and a clear path to market.
By providing the necessary technical leadership, we turned a stalled project into a tangible business asset:
- Operational Mobility: Employees gained the ability to manage their work lives on the go, significantly improving user engagement and data accuracy.
- Workforce Visibility: Employers moved from “delayed updates” to “real-time insights,” allowing for much sharper workforce planning and payroll management.
- De-risked Future: We handed over a stable, maintainable codebase and a clear architectural roadmap, ensuring the app can grow as the business does.
Even though our engagement concluded before the final public rollout, MyWorkplace was left with a fully functional solution and the technical certainty required to move forward and modernise their brand.
This project proves that the right mix of technical leadership and hands-on delivery can rescue a failing project and turn legacy constraints into a modern success story.
